Five for Five Program

About Five for Five: Sage Educators Foundation is thrilled to announce the launch of our new program, Five for Five. Acknowledging the disparity in academic resources and mentoring for low-income communities throughout Marin County, SEF will sponsor a cohort of 5 eighth grade students each year, with whom they will tutor and mentor twice weekly until those students graduate from high school. The intention of the program is to level the playing field academically so that students of all economic backgrounds may be equally represented in higher-level math and science courses, leading to greater and more diverse opportunities post-grad for students of all backgrounds and upbringings. Through academic tutoring, coaching and mentoring, as well as integration into the Sage community, our educators hope to empower students to dream big, apply themselves wholly, and succeed in all of their endeavors.

SEF Mission: Sage Educators Foundation promotes educational equity by funding academic programs for k-12 students in need, regardless of age, race, religion, or socioeconomic status.

Apply today: SEF is looking for five students to represent our first cohort in the Five for Five Success program this fall, 2018. We recognize that not every student has the resources or support they need to reach their goals and we would like to connect with those students. Programming includes but is not limited to: tutoring, test prep, goal setting, homework help, organization and study skills, and eventually college essay writing and applications.

Required: In addition to completing the scholarship application process below, applicants will need to request two letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors, or mentors; the recommendation is a digital form that they will fill out on our website .Once both letters of recommendation have been received, each complete application will be reviewed, and you can expect a response from Sage Educators Foundation within 2 weeks.
